Praxa

Product / Voice and on-device

Talk to it. Or take it offline.

Start a live spoken conversation any time on iPhone, or turn on the on-device mode and it runs fully on your phone, offline, and never commits to anything.

On iPhone you can start a live spoken conversation any time, and it answers back in real time using the same memory and identity as chat, so you can interrupt it mid-sentence. Turn on the on-device mode and it runs fully on your phone with Apple Intelligence, works offline, and never commits to anything.

What it does

One identity, three runtimes

Barge-in, not turn-taking

Cut it off mid-sentence and it stops and listens, the way a real call works.

One memory, three runtimes

Anything it learns in a voice call carries into your next text conversation, and back.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Start talking

Tap the mic in chat for a live, full-duplex conversation. Interrupt it any time and it stops.

  2. Step 2: It stays the same assistant

Same system prompt, memory, and capability catalog as text chat, with a voice-delivery style layered on top.

  3. Step 3: Or go fully offline

Turn on the on-device mode and it answers using Apple Intelligence, on the phone, with no network call.

What it does not do

  • No audio or transcript is kept after the call ends.
  • Voice cannot browse the web, run deep research, create documents or media, execute code, do commerce, or handle email.
  • The on-device mode never commits an action. It requires Apple Intelligence and works only on iPhone.
  • Voice sessions are capped at eight minutes each.

Frequently asked questions

Does Praxa keep a recording of my voice calls?

No. Voice sessions are not recorded or transcribed for storage; no audio or transcript is retained after the call ends. The same memory and identity as text chat carries over, but that is durable facts, not a recording of what was said.

Can I use Praxa fully offline?

Yes, in the on-device mode. It runs on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence, works with no network connection, and can never commit an action like sending, buying, or posting. It requires Apple Intelligence to be available on the device.

Can voice do everything text chat can?

No, by design. Voice has its own toolset, weather, news, calendar, maps, and up to eight of your connected apps, but it cannot browse the web live, run deep research, create documents or media, execute code, or handle email. Committing actions still wait for a tap.

What is the difference between on-device and cloud chat?

Cloud chat on iPhone or web has the full tool set, gated by approval where it matters. On-device runs offline on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence, needs no network, and can never commit an action at all, only cloud chat can send, buy, or post, with your sign-off.

Which iPhones support the on-device mode?

Any iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on. If Apple Intelligence is not available or enabled on your device, this mode is not offered, and the assistant falls back to cloud chat with a network connection instead.
